【概要】
The guest lecture aims to introduce the development of intelligent mechatronic systems ranging from nano to macro scales. Specifically, two major research fields will be shared. They are: (a) the investigation of smart structures working with magnetorheological materials; and (b) dielectrophoretic manipulation of micron particles for biological and biomedical applications. The lecture also provides a brief review on electrical power technology in Australia.

オーストラリアの電気エネルギー事情ならびに講師が実施している磁性流体や誘電泳動現象に関する最新の研究成果を紹介して頂いた．講師のLi先生は訪問研究員として何度も日本滞在の経験があるため、日本人にも分かりやすいように平易な英語で分かりやすく講義を行って下さった。前半の講義では、地勢、人口、資源埋蔵量、産業構成などがオーストラリアと日本とでは大きく異なるため、学生の視野を広げることができた。後半の講義はやや専門的であったが、応用分野や基本的原理に関する質問が学生から多数寄せられた。
