■概要
Mobile computing devices such as notebook and cellphone are widely used in daily life. Due to the advancement of processors, the power consumptions are increased. At the same time, the requests for device mobility and user experience never stop. So there is a stringent needs for its power converters. These requirements include high power density, fast charging speed for battery, and fast switching between full-power mode and power-saving mode.
In this talk, the power converter requirements for mobile computing devices will be introduced. Then, the control techniques to achieve the stringent requests will be addressed. These techniques include controls with fast transient response, high control bandwidth and high-frequency small-signal models, and power management IC (PMIC).

身近な電子機器であるノートPCやスマートフォンの電源に応用されているパワーエレクトロニクス技術の講演であったことから，学生らは興味を持って聴講できている様子であった。講義の途中にも拘わらず，講師からの問いかけをきっかけとして，活発な質疑や討論が行われていた。討論が多く行われたこともあり，準備されていた講義資料の一部の説明が終わらなかったが，講師より理解できない箇所があればメールで質問するようにアナウンスがあった。講義終了後において，学生自ら取り組んでいる研究内容を英語で発表する機会を頂き，講義終了後において約90分の研究交流も実施できた。
