■概要
Since the transformer insulation has a higher probability of failure than other components of the transformer, the transformer life highly depends on its insulation and its condition. The recent research finding shows that the mineral oil-based insulating liquid is not meeting the expected environmental standard in terms of biodegradability and highly flammable characteristics. Therefore, an attempt was made to develop a biodegradable, environment friendly insulating liquid for power equipment. The physicochemical, thermal and electrical performance of the developed insulating oil were measured to ascertain its usability. The enhanced performances of the developed biodegradable insulating oil compared to mineral oil were explained.
